Dontazzia N. Grayson was born on June 5, 1999, in Dunkirk, N.Y., to Jennifer Mitchell of Dunkirk, N.Y., and John Grayson of Erie. Pa.

A life long Dunkirk resident, Dontazzia was a graduate of Dunkirk, High School, class of 2017. She passed away on Oct. 19, 2022, due to a long battle with Lupus.

She was employed at the Country Fair in Dunkirk, N.Y. She was also known as a certified nurses aide. She also attended Jamestown Community College and the Upward Bound Program.

Dontazzia enjoyed the company of her best friend, Brianna Vargas and many others in and out of Dunkirk, N.Y., over the years. Family and friends will remember her as outgoing and positive, always willing to provide a helping hand when asked. Dontazzia was known for her free spirited attitude and her gentle sarcasm, and she always enjoyed entertaining family and friends , and her dog, Nikki, at home. Her son will forever cherish the many memories he had with his mother

Dontazzia is survived by her mother and father, Jennifer Mitchell and John Grayson; her son’s father, Jamal Robinson; her son, Jamal Robinson Jr.; her loving goddaughters: Kehlani Tirado and Julianna Hernandez; three sisters: Deziah Grayson of Dunkirk, N.Y., Harmony Grayson of Chicago, Ill., and Joneya Brooks of Dunkirk, N.Y.; her five brothers: Tyrell Mims, John Grayson Jr, Davonte (Elyzia) Grayson and Jeremiah Brooks, Yohana Ndagiza. She is further survived by her loving grandparents, Helen (Mark) Stewart, Carrie Johnson, Rudy (Amy) Mitchell and Jerry Casey; niece and nephew: Delani Grayson, Le’vion Grayson and soon to be niece, Valentina Dontazzia Grayson, who has been named in remembrance of her special aunt. She also leaves behind her godfather, Tyvoe Casey.

She was preceded in death by her godmother, Tyeshia Casey; and great-aunt, Clara Donaldson

Dontazzia’s funeral service will be held at the Friendship Baptist Church, on Second Street in Dunkirk, N.Y., on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the 1 p.m. service and may call at the Church from 11 a.m-1p.m.

Donatazzia’s interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dunkirk, N.Y.

All arrangements have been entrusted to Michael R. Fantauzzi, owner and director of the FANTAUZZI FUNERAL HOME, 82 E. Main St., Fredonia, N.Y.
