The Uvalde Coyotes will face the San Antonio Memorial Minutemen in junior varsity football competition tonight in the Honey Bowl.
Kick-off time for the contest is set for 6 p.m.
Originally, the Coyotes were scheduled to host Memorial for a freshman-junior varsity football doubleheader, but because of a shortage of sub-varsity players, Memorial opted to field one team for tonight’s game.
Uvalde’s roster will include some freshman players since there will be no freshman game.
One week from tonight, the young Coyotes will be on the road for sub-varsity games against the Somerset Bulldogs.
Last Thursday, the Coyotes lost a pair of sub-varsity road games played against Fredericksburg.
Uvalde Morales was slated to host Eagle Pass Junior High in a seventh-grade game and an eighth-grade game in the Honey Bowl last night.
Those games were to close out the season for the Morales football teams.
